Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun - a treat that melts in the mouth and also melts hearts! Read further to know how to make this Madhur sweet treat at home.

For Gulab Jamun

  • 2 cups crumbled Gulab Jamun mawa
  • ¼ cup plain flour (Maida)
  • 3 tbsp milk powder
  • 3 tbsp arrowroot flour

For Sugar syrup

  • 2 cups Madhur Sugar
  • 1 ½ cups Water

Other Ingredients

  • Ghee for deep frying
  • Almond slivers for garnishing

  • Heat water in a pot. Add Madhur sugar to the hot water and stir occasionally.
  • Cook this on a medium flame for 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the gulab jamun and knead it into a dough.
  • Roll the dough into small crackless balls.
  • Take a kadhai and heat the ghee for deep frying.
  • Once the ghee is heated, drop the jamuns and deep fry them until they are golden brown.
  • Drain the excess ghee from the jamuns and immerse them into the warm sugar syrup for a few minutes.
  • Garnish it with almond slivers and serve the piping hot Gulab Jamuns!
