Besan Ladoo

Let the melt in the mouth Besan Ladoos take over your senses! Learn how to make it at home and relish this simple recipe.

  • 2 cups coarse besan
  • 1 cup Madhur Sugar
  • ¾ cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup muskmelon seeds
  • ½ tsp cardamom (Elaichi) powder

For Garnishing

  • roasted cashew nuts or almond slivers

  • Take a kadhai and pour Madhur Sugar into it. Add water to the sugar and continue stirring till it reaches a thick consistency.
  • Once the sugar thickens, remove and keep it aside.
  • Dry roast the muskmelon seeds.
  • Heat the ghee in a kadhai and add the coarse besan to it. Keep roasting it on a medium flame.
  • Keep stirring the mixture to avoid any lumps from forming.
  • Once cooked, pour the mixture on a plate and mix well.
  • Now pour the mixture onto a bigger plate and add the thickened sugar and roasted muskmelon seeds to it.
  • Mix this properly with your hands. Sprinkle elaichi/cardamom powder on the mixture.
  • Grease your hands and start rolling the mixture into lemon-sized balls.
  • Finally garnish the ladoos with chopped almond slivers and serve them.
