Picture this - Creamy caramel over silky custard. Sounds heavenly, right? Here’s how you can make this classic melt-in-the-mouth French dessert at home.
½ cup Madhur Sugar
Water
¾ cup milk
¾ cup fresh whisked curd
¾ cup condensed milk
4 tbsp custard powder
½ tsp vanilla essence
Add ¼ cup of Madhur Sugar and some water in a pan and cook it while continuously stirring it on a high flame.
Cook the sugar until it melts and its colour changes to brown.
Once the colour changes, pour it in 2 small serving bowls and leave it aside to set.
Take the custard powder in a big mixing bowl and pour milk over it. Mix well.
In another bowl, mix the curd, vanilla essence and remaining sugar. Whisk all this well.
Add condensed milk to this mixture and stir it well.
Now combine the custard mixture to the curd mixture and whisk well.
Pour the mixture into the serving bowls.
Preheat 3 to 4 cups of water in a deep pan.
Once the water boils, place the serving bowls in the deep pan.
Cover the lid and let it cook for 20 minutes.
Turn off the flame and remove the serving bowls from the pan.
Cool and refrigerate the serving bowls till they are chilled.
