Moong Dal Halwa

1 cup polished green gram
¾ cup clarified butter
¾ cup Madhur refined sugar
2 cups milk
2 tbsp grated almonds
2 tbsp raisin
2 tbsp cashew nuts, roasted
¼ cup khoya, grated

Soak the green gram (moong dal) overnight.
Strain it in the morning and grind it in a mixie. Make sure that the mixture is a little grainy.
Take ¾ tablespoon of the clarified butter and heat it.
Add the ground paste and stir continuously so that it does not stick.
Keep adding a spoon of clarified butter and continue stirring. Cook till golden in colour.
Make a syrup by boiling the Madhur refined sugar and milk in low flame for about 30 minutes.
Add the syrup to the roasted gram. Cook for 5–6 minutes. Garnish with dry fruits and khoya. Serve hot.
